Book Review: Yours To Keep by Shannon Stacey

Title: Yours To Keep (Kowalski Family #3)

Author: Shannon Stacey

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Description: Sean Kowalski no sooner leaves the army than he’s recruited by Emma Shaw to be her fake fiancé. Emma needs to produce a husband-to-be for her grandmother’s upcoming visit, and, though Sean doesn’t like the deception, he could use the landscaping job Emma’s offering while he decides what to do with his civilian life. And, despite his attraction to Emma, there’s no chance he’ll fall for a woman with deep roots in a town he’s not planning to call home.
Emma’s not interested in a real relationship either; not with a man whose idea of home is wherever he drops his duffel bag. No matter how amazing his “pretend” kisses are…

Review: First of all when I read this book I didn't know it was the third in a series, but I had no problem following and it's obvious these books can be read separately. Of course if you read the others first you'll have more background on the Kowalski family and it might be easier to keep all the names straight as there are a lot of Kowalski's and in this book they're even adding more.
Sean is the cousin and before moving on or deciding what he'll do now that he's out of the army, he visits his extended family. Barely inside of his apartment and there is woman knocking on his door claiming he's her fiancé. Considering Sean has never met Emma, he just think she's batshit crazy, hot but crazy. Emma explains to Sean how her grandma whom lives in Florida is always worried about her and was thinking of moving back in with Emma, so she came up with a fake boyfriend namely him. It was all going well until her grandma decided to come for a visit, so now Emma needs Sean's help to play her fake fiancé for a month. Sean decides to go for it, not really knowing why himself, but pretty much everyone around them believe they are out of their mind. Now they are sharing a bedroom, working together all day, pretending to be in love and those practice kisses certainly feel more like real kisses.
So the story is a bit predictable, but it doesn't make it any less fun to see the two main characters squirm through all that drama and "pretend". The crazy situation Sean and Emma have to put themselves through just so they can convince her grandma are hilarious. Of course the sexual tension between those two almost jumps out of the pages and makes it kind of hot in here. A good combination of humor, not too heavy drama and the Kowalski family makes this truly an enjoyable read!

★★★½☆
