Saturday Series: Infamous (Chronicles of Nick #3) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

This week I'm reviewing Infamous, which is the third book in the Chronicles of Nick by Sherrilyn Kenyon. By now I'm absolutely addicted to this series.
The world has fallen in love with Nick Gautier and the Dark-Hunters.

Now Nick’s saga continues in the next eagerly anticipated volume...

Go to school. Get good grades. Stay out of trouble. That’s the mandate for most kids. But Nick Gautier isn’t the average teenager. He’s a boy with a destiny not even he fully understands. And his first mandate is to stay alive while everyone, even his own father, tries to kill him.

He’s learned to annihilate zombies and raise the dead, divination and clairvoyance, so why is learning to drive and keep a girlfriend so dang hard? But that isn’t the primary skill he has to master. Survival is.

And in order to survive, his next lesson makes all the others pale in comparison. He is on the brink of becoming either the greatest hero mankind has ever known.

Or he’ll be the one who ends the world. With enemies new and old gathering forces, he will have to call on every part of himself to fight or he’ll lose everyone he cares about.

Even himself.

Review:

I really like how the books start of literally when the previous ended. Like Nick is in the middle of a conversation, when it's cut off and then you have to wait 'till the next book. They are not major cliff hangers, but they usually involve some big revelation about Nick.

Now hearing you're the reason everyone on the planet is going to die, is not really that good for ones self-esteem. It makes you doubt pretty much your entire life, doubting if every decision you make is the one that's going to send you over the edge towards evil. Yeah, Nick isn't ready to share that bit of information with the world. Luckily he has the support from his friend Caleb and his almost girlfriend Kody.

While all the evil demons in the world, including Nick's dad, are still on the path of destroying him, Nick has other problems on his mind. Like getting his driver licence, convincing his mom he is old enough to date and stop the students from his school from killing each other.

After some nasty pictures about one of Nick's friends are spread around and shortly after that an entire website comes into existence with gossip and the most horrible and humiliating facts about everyone, Nick takes it upon himself to find out who is behind it. He feels it's not just some student's doing, but a greater evil is behind it. So Nick doesn't just have to worry about the paranormal being after him, now some of his fellow students are after him as well.

Meanwhile his powers keep on growing and getting more often out of control, it gets harder for him to focus on anything. As usual Nick goes from one problem to the other and honestly it's not his fault trouble keeps following him wherever he goes, too bad his mom doesn't see it that way. That boy has been grounded so often, you'd think he should start listening to her and stay home.

These stories flow so well into each other it gets hard to see where one book ends and the next one begins. They are still totally awesome and I really like how they become darker and darker. There is still the sarcasm and humour, but it often gets more sinister. Like with her other books you start thinking, how much more does he have to go through before the guy can catch a break. Some of her other books really left me heartbroken and with Nick it hasn't quite come to that, but I'm starting to get really afraid of what is to come next.
