Review: Return To You (Laurel Heights #3) by Kate Perry

That rat bastard Michael Wallace is back.

The last person Olivia Parker expects to walk into her lingerie shop is her high school sweetheart. She's so over him. Mostly. Except that he's hotter than ever and still knows her better than she knows herself. But how can she risk her heart when she knows he's just going to leave again?

It's a simple plan: return home, shoot the movie, and leave emancipated from the contract he signed eleven years before. But Michael's plan gets blown away the moment he sees Olivia again. Smart, sexy, and successful, Olivia is distraction personified. Only worse than that—Michael fears Olivia may be his heart and soul…
Review:
A romance that will make swoon, swelter and want to pull your hair. Michael and Olivia are made for each other and it seems everybody knows that, even themselves. It's just that Michael left Olivia behind eleven years ago and she's not ready to forgive him so easily. They know they have amazing chemistry, but they also know this will only last until Michael is done shooting the movie.

When it comes to the brain or heart you know which they should best listen to. There are just some obstacles they need to overcome and if it wasn't for everyone meddling it would work out a lot faster.

The thing about such short reads is that it often misses depth. This was really obvious with Return To You, even though we've met Olivia in the previous book and I really like her, some things are still missing to connect with her. It was even worse with Michael.

The story takes place over several months, but it barely feels like two weeks. This all makes it feel a bit rushed sometimes, when it really isn't since they've been going at it for like three months or even longer.

This doesn't mean I did not enjoy the book, because I did. Still I know I won't remember it for very long. It's a "read, fun and forget"-story.
