Saturday Series: Calmly, Carefully, Completely (The Reed Brothers #3) by Tammy Falkner

She’s been locked up even longer than he has.

Peter Reed is fresh out of jail, fresh out of excuses, and ready for a brand new start.

Reagan Caster needs to thank Pete for an act of kindness, but he wants more than just her thanks.

Reagan knows how to protect her body, but not her heart. And her traitorous body responds to Pete in a way it hasn't with anyone else. When Pete's innocent flirtation becomes more, Reagan's ready to accept what he has to offer.

Pete assumes Reagan needs to be loved carefully and calmly.

But Reagan knows she needs to be loved completely.

Can he give her what she needs?

Peter made a stupid mistake, and paid for it with with two years in jail. Now released, but on house arrest, he gladly accepts the opportunity to reduce his sentence. For one week he has to help at an equine therapy camp, and the last person he expected to see there is Reagan. A girl he once helped out of a terrible situation, and hasn't been able to forget ever since.

Since that fateful night Reagan has grown a lot. On the one hand she's more confident in the ability to take care of herself, but she still has a lot of fear inside. Peter was there for her that fateful night, but she has never been able to thank him for it. Now that they are both at the farm, it's clear that he wasn't just her savior, and that there is something more between them. Mostly he makes her feel safe in certain ways.

I liked this one better than the previous books. While they were enjoyable, this had some more depth that I could appreciate. We don't go into very much detail of what exactly happened to Reagan, and I'm glad for it because it's just beyond horrible. Instead we get to focus more on the positive things and that connection between the two main characters. Being in prison of course changes you, though I really liked the fact that Peter didn't lose his sense of humor. The banter and flirting translates very well, and made me giggle multiple times. If the books keep developing like this, this might turn out to be worth all the buzz.

The Author
Tammy Falkner lives on a farm in a lovely, sprawling little town in rural NC with her beekeeper husband and a house full of boys, a few dogs, and a cat or two (or five – who has time to count?). As half of the Lydia Dare team, she has co-written ten books, including the Westfield Wolves series and the Gentlemen Vampyre series. A huge fan of Regency England, she often wonders what other kinds of magical, mythical and strange creatures might live and interact within the ton. Exploring the theory that the fae can walk between Regency England and their own land, Tammy spends as much time as possible with the lords and ladies of society, horse-drawn carriages, and elegant balls. Now add to that some faeries, a little murder, a bit of mayhem, and a troublesome garden gnome, and you have her exciting new series. She hopes you enjoys her world as much as she does.
